APC40 & Reaktor Template

Inspired by Nick's video below, this is the run-through of the second template that has the functionality of the first but has a number of improvements....

1, Only one Looper - this device takes up a lot of RAM for what it does and only having the one seems to eliminate any problems with ghost samples still being in the Looper after it's been cleared. Set up to record on the track select 1,2 and 4 buttons (when combined with shift) it records and then plays back the corresponding loop size and gives visual feedback on the clip launch pads, shift and 3 reduces the loop by half....

2, Removal of the Lucifer plug-in with it being replaced in two parts by a clever beatrepeat rack and the more universally popular Reaktor (an ensemble is included along with the template that gives Beatjumping, reverse, turntable stop etc. based on the brilliant Beatlookup credit Chris List)

3, Dummy Clips for the Right Channel - fired either as a trigger by the right bank select button or fired as a gated clip (press on to fire release to stop) by the left bank select button... Inspired as with the basis for this set by Tom Cosm's megaset!!

If you want a copy of the template you'll need to have installed Live 8.0.5 and the full version of Bomes 1.7, you'll also need the VST version of Reaktor....

If you don't have them please don't get in contact asking how you can get it running for free... You can't!

For the cheapest solution to the problems of the APC40 look up www.nativekontrol.com which includes a player version of Bomes and many other features, this isn't a business for me but if you feel like showing your apreciation a tune or a donation won't go amiss!!

Have a look at the video above, you'll find Nick Cenik who's been using my template to great effect and is responsible in part in pushing me to make the update below which addresses some of the issues with the looper by only using one of them!

This is probably the best video i've seen for anyone considering buying an APC40, great advert!!

APC40 Customization - UPDATED TEMPLATE

Hi All,

I've finished tidying up the preset so thanks to everyone who donated and gave me feedback to motivate me carrying on with the template……

I’m just diving into Max4Live Beta testing and it’s blowing me away with what can be achieved and they haven’t even let us have a go at the APC object yet….. I can see it as finally turning LIVE into the got to DJ program it promised to be all those years ago….

UPDATE SUMMARY:

1, Lucifer Stepper Replaced with a Reaktor Ensemble that gives Beatjumping plus reverse, pitch up and down and turntable stop as standard with the option of substituting any of these with a user definable stutter & gating effects....

2, Lucifer Stutter replaced with a BeatRepeat Rack that sounds just as good and includes the option to gate the effect turning it into a stabbing sound plus the hyper functionality remains....

3, Only one looper now replacing four but retaining the same functionality of being able to record 1,2 or 4 bar loops with visual feedback and then halve these loops whilst being able to see where you are in the loop without having to change the screen focus to see the Looper Device...

To get a copy of the Ableton Set, the Reaktor Ensemble and the Bomes Preset (you'll need Bomes version 1.7 to make it work and that's not the trial version!) simply leave me a comment on this post which includes your email address and subscribe as a follower to keep abreast of the updates in future...

Studio L1VE: Starship APC

Hi All,

It's been a month or so since my last outing so it's time i got a track or two out there.... LSO Radio has been going through some changes recently and will shortly be relaunched as a on-demand service where each of the DJ's get their own dedicated channel to upload mixes to, the benefit of this is that we're not restricted to an hours slot, with this there's not so much of a rush for me to slam through 15 genres a track at a time... The result below of an hour and 45 is much more representative of what i'd be playing out now if anyone wanted to book me (hahahahahahahahaha never gonna happen!)
